Right now all I want is a wardrobe full of white, black and khaki, maybe throw in a bit of camel and nude for good measure. But I seriously can't get enough of these colours! I know they're not exactly Spring/Summer colours, I'm just not too sure if the classic bright summer colours are for me. Newlook are completely winning me over at the moment and I think they've seriously nailed the khaki trend. I actually bought a beautiful khaki playsuit from them not so long ago but unfortunately it didn't fit so ended up returning it. When I say return, I mean exchange, as I couldn't bare to leave the shop without a shirt I'd been eying up (as it's completely justifiable cos I wasn't actually spending any extra money, haha)!
The shirt itself is pretty basic, but it's one of those essential basic items that you can be pair with so many different things and get an endless supply of different outfits from. I've already worn it tucked in to a skirt and I reckon it'll be great when it's warmer, chucked over the top of a plain cami. It's slightly over sized, but nips in at the waist, so it doesn't leave you too shapeless. I always worry about this as, with being petite, over sized clothes can sort of drown me out! Today I went pretty simple and wore it slightly tucked it to my favourite pair of Miss Selfridge jeans with my faux leather worn over the top. It gave a slightly military/grungy look but I think you could easily style it up with a pair of jeans if you were going out for drinks or a meal. Shoe wise I went for the newest addition to my shoe collection, a beautiful pair of peep toe shoe boots with a double sling back, that I found whilst browsing the Boohoo wesbite. I've been looking for peep toe boots for such a long time and when I saw these I knew I had to have them, they're the perfect Spring shoe, aren't they!? They have a little bit of a heel, which gives me a bit of height, but the platform-esque sole means they're really comfy. I walked around York all day with these on and it was just like wearing a pair of flats.
What are your thoughts on the khaki trend?
