Review - Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette

Hello!

When it comes to limited edition makeup products I rarely give in to the hype. However pretty a limited edition product may be, I want something I can repurchase, not be scared to use and worry about it eventually running out! That being said, when I first heard about the release of the Nars Dual Intensity Eyeshadow Palette I knew I had to have it! I'd had my eye on a couple of their Dual Intensity single shades for a while and getting a palette with not one, but eight, beautiful shades was the obvious thing to do...

The palette had the typical sleek Nars packaging that never fails to impress. I particularly like their new mirrored design as it adds a really chic edge and looks lovely sitting in pride place on my dressing table. It's made of a good, sturdy plastic and isn't too bulky so you can easily travel with it. Plus, the edition of a travel size eyeshadow brush makes it the perfect go-to travel palette. Each eyeshadow is 1g, and there is eight all together, so it's pretty good value for money at £45 for 8g, especially when the single shadows are £21 for 1.5g!

All of the shadows have a beautifully creamy texture and blend out just as well as I hoped. Having never tried Nars shadows before my expectations were going purely on the rave reviews from others and I must say I have not been let down! Overall I found the pigmentation pretty good, although slightly lacking in the darker shades but they build up beautifully so it's not really an issue. Oh, and there's barely any fallout, which is a godsend if you're a bit slap-dash with your eyeshadows like me! The great thing about these shadows is that they can be used wet or dry, depending on the look you're going for, and using them wet adds more intensity. I've only used them dry cos I'm a little scared of using them wet!

The seven shimmery shades in the palette are all available as single shadows with the only matte shadow in the palette, Ursa Major, being a new addition. Himalia is by far my favourite shade in the palette. It's a beautiful champagne bronze and so easy to wear. It looks beautiful with a nude makeup look and also pairs well with a bold red lip. Andromeda is a pink toned highlighting shade which I love using in the inner corner and under the brow bone, but I think it would look stunning as a cheek highlight too. Subra is the perfect Autumn/Winter deep shimmery purple and, although it needs some building up, looks so pretty on the lid. I love wearing this for a grungy smokey eye and it stays put throughout the entire day.

Have you tried any of the Nars Dual Intensity shades?

    1. It's beautiful, isn't it! It seems expensive but if you're gonna buy a few of the shades it's such a money saver!

  2. I've only swatched these in store and love them most when applied wet. However, I've avoided purchasing this as I've been buying soo many palettes lately and can't justify another lol xD
