Style - Chunky Boots and Mixed Patterns

Hello!

Long time no blog, I know! I'm getting back on the blogging game though and getting organised. Photoing in bulk, drafting posts, planning for the weeks ahead and hopefully sticking to this new plan, ahaha! Today I've got a very wintery outfit to share with you. I absolutely love Summer because I can't stand being cold, but I absolutely adore winter styling. Booties, chunky scarfs and faux far, yes please!

It seems to be getting rather cold now, definately time to get out the chunky knits, thick coats and boots (although I start wearing boots as early into the Autumn as I can get away with!). Even though I have a rather plentiful collection of boots I couldn't resist purchasing these lovely chunky heeled boots from Newlook. I've been after a pair of grungy style heeled boots for a while and these were exactly what I had in my head. I love the lace up front, giving them combat boot-esque sort of feel and the little side buckle is a really nice touch. Although they look quite high the platform sole means they don't have that much of a heel. I wore these to my graduation and didn't even feel like I was wearing a heel. Soooo easy and comfortable to walk in! They're still in stock at Newlook and can be found here for £30!

I decided to go quick simple and slightly monochrome with my outfit today, pairing my boots with my leather look jeans that I got from Miss Selfridge last year. I really need to get a new pair of these because I've kinda wore this pair to death! I think they make a nice change from plain denim jeans and leather look fabrics are always a great choice for the colder months. Over the top I opted for my Miss Selfridge check pattern coat because it's soooo warm and I love the faux fur collar. Also, it makes me feel fancy and if that's not an excuse to wear it, I don't know what is! Lastly, I added my chunky dog tooth print that I recently got from Primark for only £5. I think the check and dog tooth patterns pair really well together. The mix of patterns really helps to break up the outfit without being too over the top, what do you think?

Haircare Products I Can't Live Without

Hello!

It occured to me the other day that I very rarely talk about hair care, styling or anything of that nature on my blog. I've got no idea why, especially as haircare was something I was interested in long before skincare or even makeup! Although I don't spend a lot of time styling my hair I do concentrate on ensuring it's looks and feels healthy, nourished and shiny. Considering that I've been dying my hair since I was 13, using heat on it regularly and I very rarely get it cut at the hairdressers (nothing like a little DIY haircut, ahaha) it's in pretty good condition! Although I like to try out new haircare products and rarely repurchase ones that I've previously used there's a couple that I don't think I could get through my haircare routine without;

Haircare Must Haves - Aussie, Tangle Teezer and L'Oreal

 The Aussie Miracle Hair Insurance is a product I've been using non stop for years and years, it does wonders for my hair and has become so much a part of my haircare routine that I use it without even thinking! It's a lovely, lightweight leave in conditioner that helps to add a bit more hydration and helps to de-tangle for easy post wash brushing. I always do a couple (or 10) spritzes of this after towel drying my hair and then go in with the brush. If I have a larger tangle I spray the conditioner directly on it and let it work it's magic. I love that it doesn't make your hair feel clogged up with product and, of course, the amazing fruity scent. It's also perfect for spritzing on dry end between washes, it really livens them up again!

The Tangle Teezer is one of those cult products in the blogging world and I've been on the bandwagon for a good couple of years. Having naturally long, curly hair this is a must have brush for me. It really helps to gently ease out my tangles without making my hair turn into a massive frizzy mess. Unlike most brushes it doesn't have a handle, but it's a lovely shape so it's really comfy in your hand and you can grip it well. I dread to think how I would ease out tangles without this little gem! Oh, and it's super easy to clean; some brush cleanser and a cheapy toothbrush and you're good to go!

Lastly, is my go to shampoo and conditioner duo, L'Oreal EverRiche Nourishing and Flowing. The L'Oreal EverRiche range is free from sulphates, which is much better for your hair than standard sulphate shampoos (and your face if any drips down!), and has really helped me to reduce how frequently I wash it. It always leaves me hair feeling clean, nourished and looking healthy for at least four or five days post wash. I adore the scent, with it's slightly nutty tones it's definitely a winner for me! Before using this shampoo and conditioner I wasn't really loyal to a particular range, but I've not bought anything else since trying this. Oh, and it foams up just as well as any other standard shampoo, no extra product needed!

What haircare products are you always loyal to?
