Autumn Nail Polish Picks

Hello!

I've never really been one of those people who sticks with the seasonal makeup 'shade rules'. You know what I mean; bright coral lipsticks in summer, deep purples and reds in winter. Don't get me wrong, I do kind of sway to the seasonal shades, but there's nothing quite like mixing it up a bit, wearing whatever you fancy no matter what the season. The nail polish shades I've been wearing. since the weather changed for the worse. are a mix of the traditional burgundy shades. that everyone loves at this time of year. and a couple that are a bit brighter to lighten your mood on a rainy Autumn day.

Autumn 2014 Nail Polish Picks

Barry's M Pomegranate is from the Gelly Hi Shine range. It's a really delightful bright pink berry shade, sort of like a bright fuschia red. I think it's adds a really pretty pop of colour to dull Autumn days and is a lovely pick me up sort of shade. The only downside is that I find the Gelly range doesn't last on my nails quite as long as some others, but it's such a pretty colour, I really don't mind.

Rimmel's Lasting Finish polish in Block Your Green is a beautiful teal toned forest green. It's got a very subtle shimmer to it which is barely noticeable but keeps it looking really fresh. I love this shade for the colder months as it adds a really seasonal appropriate pop of colour and is prefect for the transition between seasons. It's a great shade of those who want try wearing brighter nail polish shades but are a bit worried of going too bright.

Burgundy Crush is from Barry M's matte polish range and is possibly one of my favourites! When I first got my hands of this I barely wore any other colour. I really love matte nail polishes, and lipsticks for that matter, and the colour of this is divine. It's a deep, red toned burgundy which adds a bit of a grungy twist to any outfit. I find that the matte range wear really well and last just as long as their original line. They're also super easy to apply and dry much faster, which is perfect for people like me who always manage to smudge freshly painted nails!

Amaretto from Seventeen is a beautiful purple toned burgundy with lots of shimmer. It's a perfect shade for the winter festivities and a bit different from the usual glittery reds and greens. It's a really pretty shade and very wearable, dark yet still girly.

Models Own Mushroom is a really lovely, easy to wear, dark nude. I really love to wear this during the colder months as it has slightly more to give than your general nudes and is a little less boring looking without being too in your face. It has really pretty tones of lilac running through which I absolutely love. This was the first Models Own polish I'd tried and the quality of it really won me over!
