Review - Max Factor Whipped Creme Foundation

Hello!

A couple of months ago I hopped in to Boots on the hunt for a new matte foundation to replace a couple I already owned that were on their way to running out. Although I have dry skin I always have a matte foundation in my stash because they're great for warmer, humid days where a dewy foundation can get a bit too shiny. I picked up the Maxfactor Whipped Creme foundation on a bit of a whim, having read no reviews, and swatched it on the back of my hand. It felt light, creamy and matched my skin tone perfectly...in the basket it went! I chose the lightest shade, Light Ivory, so if your super, super pale it might be slightly too dark for you!

The foundation comes in a little round pot and has a thick consistency but has a very light weight feel to it. On bottom on the pot states you get 18ml which seems like quite a bit less than the normal 30ml(!) but a little goes a very long way. I've used it countless times and still have tonnes left! The formula of the foundation is very different from your normal liquid foundations. The whipped effect makes it very light and velvety, but don't worry, it's nothing like the dreaded mouse foundations many used in their teens, aha!

The formula and great shade match go hand in hand to make this a really lovely foundation. I love how light weight it feels on the face (it's perfect for those of you who don't like the feel of foundation!) but it still manages to cover well and does an amazing job at hiding my redness. It gives a very flawless finish, velvet like finish. It's not dewy but it's not completely matte either. It just looks really healthy and natural. Best of all, it's doesn't look or feel cakey or drying on my dry skin! I always like to try out new foundations with different methods of application and this is perfect with sponges and brushes. My favourite way to apply it is with my Real Techniques Expert Face Brush (I know it's not the one in the pictures, I didn't want to photograph a dirty brush, aha!) and then finishing it off with a Beauty Blender dupe! This gives perfect flawless finish and it looks so lovely on the skin. If you're after a new foundation that won't break the bank, lasts well and gives a beautifully flawless finish..try this! You can get it from Boots for £9.99.

    1. I wish my skin wasn't so dry because I love matte finishes. This is one of those lovely foundations that's not drying but great to prevent that horrid shine! xx
