Style - Daisy Daisy

Hello!

So today I took the plunge. I took outfit photos in a public place, a place where people could see me posing and were getting in the way. I even had someone else taking the pictures for me. In all honesty I was a little nervous at first. My previous outfit photos have been taken in my room with just me, my camera and my tripod. However, I actually enjoyed doing outfit photos outside and, if people saw me, who cares! I'm actually much happier with the quality of these photos than I've been with any I've taken myself. They're much more in focus and the exposure is a lot better. I actually can't wait to go my next outfit photos!

I find it hard to find dresses that I not only like on the hanger, but I also like on myself and flatter my figure. As I'm quite short I find some dresses kind of swamp me and make me look smaller, so I tend to stick with what I know and just go for skater dresses. However, the other day I saw this lovely daisy print sun dress and since it was only £10 I knew I had to grab it! I really love the delicate daisy print and as it comes in slightly at the waist it's quite flattering but also casual, perfect for warm summer days. The material is really light and floaty so it would be great for holidays abroad or a trip to the beach, but it's not so floaty that a gust of wind could cause you some embarrassment. Although it's nice a light for summer then colour and style means that you could easily wear it in to autumn. I think it would look really love layered over a plan tee, with some black tights, leather jacket and a thick scarf. Not forgetting some lovely Chelsea boots. As it gets colder you could layer over a burgundy chunky jumper, I love layering in winter.

The pattern and style of the dress gives it a girly yet slightly grungy feel which is a style I really like, I never like to dress overly girly. As it was pretty warm today I went bare legged and teamed the dress with my chunky gladiator sandals. They're really comfy and although they have a heel the platform means you really can't tell. I've walked around all day in them before and not had any issues with sore feet! The sandals work really well with the dress and add to the slightly grungy look, but they also work really well with jeans! I really like how the look of the dress with my leather jacket but it was a little too warm today so I grabbed my denim, which I think balances the girlie and grungy well. My little winged bag has been my go to for the past couple of months. I love the pastel pink colour of it!

  3. Love the pictures and love the dress! I too always go for skater dresses, I can't help myself. I know they suit me and are easier to wear so I'm happy to stick with that!
