In My Travel Makeup Bag

Hello!

I love reading these types of posts on other blogs but realised I've never done one on my own blog! I think it's a great way to have a noisy into other bloggers makeup and their favourite products, I'm sure we're all guilty at loving a good snoop at other peoples makeup! I'm really bad at packing and tend to over pack, take stuff I know I won't even need and spend a lot of time saying "I'll pack this just in case2". Is it just me that does that, please say I'm not alone! Anyway, looking at these posts on other blogs always helps me to realise that I can travel without taking my entire makeup collection (although I do still over pack!), and this is what I packed for a weekend back at home!

I started off by packing my Dior AirFlash CC Primer (obviously not in to my makeup bag, it's took big!) as it's my current favourite primer and really helps to prep the skin. When it comes to packing foundation I always take at least two as I find I prefer different ones for different occasions and I had no idea what the weather was going to be like. I first packed the Bourjois 123 Perfect CC Cream as it's a perfect light base for sunny days or days when I'm going for more of a natural look. It covers all my redness by still looks barely there. The other foundation I packed was my Laura Mercier Silk Creme Foundation which I adore for a perfect flawless based. It's quite thick in consistency but still feels light on the skin and gives the most amazing coverage and real skin look. The packed this just in case I picked up a tan as I was actually colour matched slightly too dark for my skin but once I'm a little tanned it will look perfect! At the last minute I threw in my Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation as it's absolutely amazing on warm summer days. I personally don't find it too heavy and as it has a lovely semi-matte finish it doesn't budge, slide or melt at all. Perfect for a warm day! I only own one powder, Bourjois Java Powder, and I'm pretty loyal too it. It's great for setting the under eyes as it contains ultra fine shimmer which really helps to brighten the eye area. It's just really great for setting foundation without making you look mate and ensuring you still have that healthy glow about you!

For eyes and brow I threw in all my Soap and Glory favourites. I reviewed the Soap and Glory mascara here and find it great for any occasion. I also really love the Soap and Glory Kohl Eyeliner and Supercat Eyeliner as they're super easy to apply and don't budge at all. I find that in warm weather makeup has a tendency to slip and slide more than normal so it's really important to pack products that are going to stay in place. For brows I packed my trusty Soap and Glory Archery pencil which has a felt pen on one end and a pencil on the other, making it really easy to do different brow shapes and looks. I also threw in the Maybelline Brow Drama as it makes a great brow gel to top off the pencil or for a natural look on its own. I also packed my Urban Decay Naked 2 palette last minute, I nearly forgot it! It has great range of colours for different looks and I sometimes find by Naked 3 can look a little too pink.

For cheeks I just couldn't decide on what to take so I started off with my trusty Nars Laguna Bronzer as it's great for general bronzing and contouring. I took the Benefit Rockateur Blush, which I reviewed here, as it's a great blush for all looks. I threw in two Bourjois blushes, one of which is a really pretty matte pink which is a lovely summer colour and the other is a shimmery peach which I love as a highlight.

Lipsticks are something I can never decide on so I took a range of bright and more toned down colours so I had a nice choice. Bourjois Rouge Velvet in Hot Pepper, Revlons Matte Balm in Audacious and Mac Chatterbox are all lovely, bright summery colours that have great pigmentation and don't budge. As a toned down colour I took Mac Please Me as it still adds a splash of colour to the lips but is quite simple as doesn't take all the attention.

Do you use any of these products? Do you over pack too?
