Review - Botanics Facial Oil

Hello!

You might remember me briefly mentioning this Botanics Facial Oil on my night time skincare routine, back in January, and I thought I'd give you a more detailed routine on it since I've nearly used it all up now! A few months back I came across Caroline Hirons blog and was given an insight in to all the skincare steps I was missing out. I decided a facial oil was a must in my routine and set about adding the new addition to my skincare products. As I'd never really used a facial oil before I decided to start with a drugstore brand that wasn't too expensive and the Botanics Facial Oil seemed the perfect choice at £9.99.

The Botanics Facial Oil comes in a tiny 25ml bottle with a little dropper lid for easy application. 25ml seems like a small amount of product for £9.99 but you honestly only need the smallest amount to cover the entire face. I've had this for a good four or five months now and reckon I'm gonna be able to get another month out of it, at least! For ease of application the lid is combined with a pipette style dropper, which as a clumsy person I find incredibly handy! To add a little bit of luxury to a drugstore product the bottle has a lovely frosted feel to it and a pretty simple label.

I have been applying the Botanics Facial Oil each evening, before my moisturiser but after toning, using a few drops at a time. I have been patting the product in to my skin rather than rubbing it in as I find this method much more effective. I would especially recommend doing this if you also use a serum as I found when I did it kind of made the serum flake off (does that make sense?). I was a little worried that it would make my skin feel oily but this isn't the case at all. I have dry skin and although I haven't found it the most moisturising product, it does help will adding a little moisture and keeps my skin looking healthy and bright. In the morning I have still found a small amount of dryness around my nose but other than that my skin has felt really soft in the morning. I haven't been using it in my morning routine purely because I think it will be a little too much during the day.

I do really like this product and for £9.99 it's really worth the money but as this is the first facial oil I have tried I probably won't repurchase just so I can try something else. I've been really interested in the Body Shop Serum in Oil but please let me know if you have any other suggestions!
