Not long after creating my blog I signed up to the commonly used blogging networks, but haven't really used them much since then. Having now understood the importance of these sites and how many people use them to seek new blogs to read or catch up with their favourite blogs I have started using them regularly!

I thought I'd share with you the ones I use so you can use them to follow me (If you wish) or keep up to date with my blog posts :)

Review - Sugar Crush

Hello!

Is everyone enjoying the snow? Unfortunately for me there hasn't been enough snow in Chester for the uni to close for a 'snow day' so this morning I had to very carefully walk to my lectures...there was a lot of slipping and sliding involved!

So, Sugar Crush Body Scrub is another product I received in my Soap & Glory 'best of all' box, and is part of the Sugar Crush range. In the past I have tried another Soap & Glory scrub, Pulp Friction, a foaming scrub which I really liked!

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

Sugar Crush comes in a large tub, the same size and shape of the all famous Righteous Butter. The tub is decorating in the usual Soap & Glory way, perfect for any girl! The tub lid is nice and large which allows for plenty of grip whilst in the shower, although it does get slippy and I have dropped it a couple of times!

"Super scrub with smashed brown sugar and sweet lime, almond oil & macadamia grains."

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

The product itself has a really fresh scent to it. It contains lime which comes across as one of the strongest scents in the product. It is lovely and sweet though, and isn't OTT with the citrus scent, but isn't as sweet smelling as the name suggests. The packaging states to use the scrub a couple of times a week. I normally use it whenever I shave my legs as I find it gives a closer shave and smoother legs! It feels really nice to apply, and you can definitely feel it scrubbing. I use it mostly on my legs and sometimes on my arms, they both definitely feel smoother after using it!

Soap and Glory Sugar Crush Body Scrub

I've used the scrub about 5 times up to now and as you can see the product is going to last me quite a while! I'm not quite sure how much you're meant to use but I normally take a small scoop and it seems to go really far!

I would probably buy this again as I really love it! It works great and have a lovely scent, what more could I ask for?

Have you tried Sugar Crush or another scrub from Soap & Glory?

Prints.

Hello!

A few months ago you may remember me writing this post about a Kodak Retinette that I picked up for £3 at an antiques fair. I had no idea about the working condition of the camera but thought it was worth buying considering the price! Anyway, I stuck a film in and got snapping away, as this was the only real way of seeing how effectively the camera worked!

To my delight I've found that the camera is pretty much in full working order. There were about 6 photos that weren't developed due to the shutter sticking and not actually capturing the picture, but that could be due to the fact it just hasn't been used for so long. The rest of the photos haven't come out as well as I'd hoped and most are blurred, but it's far better than I expected! After buying the camera I spent ages looking at photos from others with the same camera. If you enjoy photography I really suggest you do the same as these camera product such lovely prints. I really love the way they capture the colour and the vintage look of the photos.

So, here's a small selection of the prints that I've scanned. Most are from my Christmas trip to London!

Oxford Street Christmas Lights!
A blurred Oxford Street
Marble Arch
Spooky looking Hyde Park
Hyde Park Christmas Fairground
Harrods!

Sky
My beautiful little girl again

Do you own a vintage camera?

Review - Soap & Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Milk

Hello!

So, along with many others I also received the Soap and Glory 'Best of All' box. It wasn't a surprised present as I had slightly pestered my boyfriend for it. Unfortunately it had sold out at my local boots but I was so happy when I saw it whilst on my day out in London! So, my 'Best of All' box has traveled from London to Wigan!

Peaches and Clean Deep Cleansing Milk is a relatively new facial cleanser by Soap & Glory that was included within the Soap & Glory 'Best of All' box. I've tried a couple of Soap & Glory facial cleansers, one being 'Scrub Your Nose In It' and the other being 'Face Soap' so I was really excited to try this one!
Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Face Milk

Peaches and Clean comes in a 200ml pump dispenser, making it really easy to use. It has the usual pink, girly packaging that I love about Soap & Glory! Obviously, the top of the pump dispenser is lockable meaning that it work preventing leakage whilst traveling or not using the product.

Peaches and Clean Cleansing Face Milk

The product has a lovely smell to it. It's not the original Soap & Glory scent (great for you that aren't keen on it) and is slightly peachy and fruity. It's not at all over powering and is actually quite subtle. The consistency of the product is a lot thinner than other facial cleansers I've used, but is still manageable and doesn't run off your fingers. It feels lovely when applying to the skin, it's very smooth and gentle, even when applying around the eyes. I have bee removing it with a muslin cloth for give a light exfoliation and it's really great at removing all traces of makeup, including eye makeup!

Soap and Glory Peaches and Clean Cleansing Facial Milk

I really love Peaches and Clean. It leaves my skin feeling really soft and fresh. I'm really happy that it doesn't at all leave my skin feeling dry and doesn't break me out. I'll most likely buy it again in the future!

The 200ml dispenser retails at £6 and can be found in Boots. The price is really good value for money and pretty reasonable for a Soap & Glory product.

Have you tried this product or any other product from Soap & Glory?

Review - Dove Intensive Repair Regenerating Hair Mask

Hello!

My hair is normally in really could condition and barely ever gets dry. I use moisture shampoo, moisture conditioner when washing, plus an intensive conditioner once or twice and week. This routine has worked for me in the past and kept my hair lovely and healthy.

Recently, the combination of my bleached ombre hair and the cold weather but hair has gotten dry. This along with me having very long, curly hair makes it a bit difficult to manage so I thought it was time to get something to soften it up a bit! I came across Dove Intensive Repair Regenerating Hair Mask whilst browsing in the hair section. I actually chose it because it was one offer (typical student!) and also it was a hair care brand I hadn't properly tried in the past.

Before applying the hair mask I washed my hair with my usual shampoo (Aussie Miracle Moist) and didn't apply conditioner, but instead the hair mask. The consistancy of the conditioner is think, as I expected, and has a pleasant smell to it. I would explain it as a common hair care product scent, and it's not at all over powering. As I have very long hair I did need to use a fair amount of the product, but I would day I have enough left for another 4-5 applications, which I think is good. I left the product in for about 10 minutes to make sure my hair good a really good soaking. Is does take a bit of effort to wash out, but I didn't find any residue after drying my hair. I also found it wasn't good heavy for my hair, which I have found with other intensive conditioners.

The product itself let my hair feeling so soft and shiny, I was so impressed. It also made it a lot more manageable and smoother. I was also really happy that the softness lasts, even after the next couple of washing prior to using it. The only downside to the product was the packaging. Because it's in a tub rather than a bottle you have to be a bit careful during showering not to get water in the tub.

The Dove Intensive Repair Regenerating Hair Mask retails at £3.99 for ml which I think is a really good price for what it does and the amount you get.

Have you tried a hair mask? What is your opinion on Dove hair care products?

Review - Maybelline Fit Me Foundation

Hello!

I was love trying out new foundations as I am yet to find my perfect foundation. When I saw the advert for the Maybelline Fit Me range I instantly wanted to try it out, so was happy when they were offering a limited number of free samples! I quickly went online and registered for my free sample of the foundation.

The Maybelline website gave a really good shade matcher to ensure they you were ordering the correct shade. I found it really easy to use and was really happy when it arrived and I found the shade matched my skin tone really well. The product does come is a good range of different shades to match different skin tones, so it should be easy to find one perfect for your skin.

The sample size was 10ml which I thought was a really generous size. It gave me and chance to try it out on a few different occasions and apply it in different ways. This was really good as I find you need to try foundations a few times to see how you really feel about them.

When first trying the foundation I found the consistency to be very runny, which is something I don't really like as I tend to go for thicker foundations. The first time I applied it I used my fingers which I found worked well. It applied evenly and smoothly but didn't give me a fuller coverage like I prefer due to the type of skin I have. I would say this foundation gives a light - medium coverage and I found it needed touching up throughout the day as it doesn't last. It did however feel light on the skin and give a dewy finish.

The other time I applied it I tried it with a buffing brush. I found that it applied slightly thicker, with more coverage. It was however harder to apply and the runny consistency cause it to have a streaky look and took a lot of buffing in. I found that if you build it up it does give a cakey look to it and feels slightly heavy on your face. I have quite dry skin and around my worse areas (nose and cheek bones) I did find that it clung slightly to these areas.

In all honesty I probably wouldn't buy this foundation again mainly because it doesn't give the fuller coverage I prefer and isn't easily buildable. I would recommend it to people who prefer a light coverage. It does apply easily with fingers and gives a nice dewy finish once applied.

The full sized product (30ml) retails at £7.99 which I think is a good price for the size you get. There is also a pressed powder and concealer within the range.

Have you tried this foundation? What were your thoughts?

Resolutions - 2013

Hello! Happy New Year!

I hope you've all had a lovely NYE! So, as we've said bye to 2012 and hello to 2013, I thought I should do a new years resolution post...so here it goes!

In all honesty I've never been one for doing new years resolutions (or sticking to them, for that matter!) as I tend to think that if there's something you want to change, why wait?! But this year I thought I'd jump on the band wagon, try them out and see how they go.

In no real order...

1.Drink more water! When it comes to keeping myself hydrating I will admit I'm utterly terrible. I'll drink a cup of tea for breakfast and completely forget to have another drink until I start feeling ill. It's a really bad habit that I've gotten into and one I plan on snapping out of!

2. Take my makeup off EVERY night! I do try and stick to this as much as possible but on nights where I've gone out or been super tired I've let it slip. I know it's bad for my skin and waking up with sore eyes is never fun, so I plan on ensuring all makeup is removed before bed!

3. Spend less money! At the beginning of my uni year I worked out I could afford to spend £30 a week with the amount I got for my loan. I started off each week by taking £30 out of the bank and stopped using my card to pay for items. After about 2 weeks the hole thing had gone to pot and I was back splurging on my card! I'm a sucker for an offer (food and beauty wise) but I plan on sticking to my £30 rule and only buying stuff I need!

4. Be more organised! My rooms (both at home and uni) are full of organize chaos. I'm terrible at tiding and putting stuff away and I normally had a 'floordrobe'. I plan on keeping both my rooms tidier, and also my handbag! This also includes being more organised with blogging. Blog at least once a week!

5. Eat less crisps! I tend to stay clear of sweet treats (my Christmas chocolate will probably last me to at least March!) but crisps are my utter weakness. Although I tend to eat a reasonably healthy diet I know I eat far too many crisps and would benefit from eating less.

So, that's my 5 new years resolutions! I plan on doing another post in a months time to see if I've broken any. What do you think of them? What are yours? Do we have any similar?
