Sorry I've Been Away!

Hello! Hope you all had a lovely little Christmas!

So, today's post is just a quick post to explain why nothing has been on the blog for a few weeks! The last couple of weeks at uni were really hectic. I had 3 assignments to hand in before we finished for Christmas, including two A2 posters! Obviously my uni work had to be prioritized and took up a lot of my time. As well as the assignments there was also a couple of short exams that I had to prepare for.

I was hoping I would have time to blog back at home, but as we all know, Christmas is a busy time and with preparing for that I was also very busy!

I have some lovely little posts for you over the next few days, including a Christmas Instagram, so keep your eyes peeled!

Please post any Christmas blog posts as I would love to see them!

Beauty Wish List

So, with Christmas fast approaching I have decided to put myself on a spending ban (apart from Christmas present and essentials) until after Christmas.

This doesn't stop me window shopping. My current wish list is huge! Today I actually had to drag myself out of a shop before I bought some shoes that had a lovely offer on them!
I'm currently lusting over so many beauty products are the moment. From lipsticks to skin care my list goes on and on!

So here is a little snippit of the beauty products I'm dying to get my hands on!

1 - Liz Earle Cleanse & Polish // 2 - Real Techniques Starter Kit // 3 - Barry M Gold Glitter // 4 - MAC Lipstick //  5 - Estee Lauder Double Wear Foundation // 6 - Soap and Glory Mist You Madly

1. The Liz Earle Cleanse and Polish is something I have been pondering about for some time now. Her products pop up frequently in the blogging world and are well known for how well they work. After reading a few reviews I've decided it's a product I really need to get my hands on - sooner rather than later!
2. I was so happy with the Real Techniques Core Collection and Powder Brush that I just want to collect them all. The brushes are so soft, clean well and look lovely. This set is definitely next on my list!
3. I recently reviewed the Barry M Silver Glitter and was amazed by how opaque it is. I've currently put myself on a spending ban so I'm really lusting after this!
4. MAC lipsticks seem to be one of the bloggers favourites. Having never tried them before and after seeing so many reviews and currently really lusting over them. I've been browsing over their colours and 'Ruby Woo' is really standing out to me.
5. I've been lusting over 'high end' foundations for some time now. There's so many around there but after looking through reviews and trying products in shops I narrowed it down to this one. Unfortunately it's a bit out of my price range now but I'll continue lusting!
6. Soap and Glory Mist You Madly is one of my favourite body mist. It's got a lovely fruity/floral smell and the scent really lasts. I've had my bottle a good few months so it's well worth the money. Unfortunately my bottle is almost finished so this is top of my wish list!

What are you currently lusting after?

This or That Tag

I got this lovely tag from Ellie over at Ellie's Ramblings. It's a nice and simple little tag and a great way to get to know people.

Leave a blog comment and link if you decide to do this tag yourself.

Blush or Bronzer - Blush always. I'm really scared of using bronzer!

Lipgloss or Lipstick - Lipstick. I don't really like wearing lipgloss as I don't like the look of it or the feel of it on my lips.
Eyeliner or Mascara - Mascara. I rarely wear eyeliner any more.
Foundation or Concealer - Foundation. Although I do wear an under eye concealer daily if I had to choose I would probably prefer foundation or it's own rather than just concealer. I suffer from really bad cheek redness.
Neutral or Coloured Eyeshadow - Both. I tend to go for neutral as daily makeup and then build it up with colour if I'm going out.
Pressed or loose eyeshadows - Pressed eyeshadows. I've never tried loose ones as they sound messy!
Brushes or Sponges - Brushes. I used to use sponges but I get on so much better using brushes now.

OPI or China Glaze - I've never tried either but I see a lot of good things about OPI
Long or Short - Long. My nails tend to grow naturally long with out my noticing. It doesn't bother me or hinder me in any way, so I tend to just leave them like that.
Acrylic or Natural - Natural. I've never had fake nails put on and don't really like the sound of it.
Brights or Darks - Depends on what I'm doing, where I'm going and the time of year. I'm currently wearing dark though.

Perfume or body spray - Depends on what I'm doing. I like to use body spray to fresher up, particularly when I've been working with the animals at uni but I mostly use perfume.
Lotion or Body Butter - Body butter.
Body Wash or Soap - Body wash. I'm actually allergic to most soaps.

Jeans or Sweat Pants - Jeans. I don't think I own any sweat pants. I do love wearing leggings though!
Long or Short Sleeves -Short in the summer, long in the winter. I do love long sleeved blouses as well.
Dresses or Skirts -I wear both. I do like that a dress is a complete outfit though, were as you have to find a top and skirt which is sometimes tricky!
Stripes or Plain - Plain. Not a huge fan of stripes.
Flip flops or Sandals - I tend not to wear either, but do wear flip flops abroad.
Scarves or Hats - Scarfs. I never really think I suit hats.
Studs or Dangly Earrings - Studs. Dangly earrings have got caught in my hair in the past.
Necklaces or Bracelets - Necklaces.
Heels or Flats - Flats normally, but I do like a nice pair of heels for when I'm going out!
Cowboy Boots or Riding Boots - I don't like either really. I don't get why you'd dress like your going horse riding when...your not.
Jacket or Jumper -Jumpers. Nice and snug.
Abercombie or Hollister - Both of them annoy me. I think the clothing is overrated and I wouldn't pay that much just so I had their brand name on my hoody!

Curly or Straight - Curly. My hairs naturally curly so it's the easiest way. I don't think I really suit straight hair either.
Bun or Ponytail - If it's up it's in a bun, but that's when I'm working with the animals.
Hair Spray or Gel- Hair spray.
Long or Short - Long. I had it in a bob when I was in year 6 and instantly regretted it. It took me so long to grow it and it's now longer than ever!
Light or Dark - At the moment I have Ombre. Dark brown at the top that gradually goes to an auburn blonde. I always keep my hair dark though.
Side Fringe or Full Fringe - I had a full fringe but it really annoyed as it took quite some work. At the moment I have a centre parting with no fringe but if any, a side fringe.
Up or Down- Down.

NOTD - Models Own Nude Beige

So, as some as you might have been away a couple of magazines have been giving away free nail polishes with their mags this month/week. I took this opportunity to try a brand I'd never tried before - Models Own.

The colour I chose was Nude Beige. In all honesty this isn't a colour I would have instinctively bought. I tend not to go for natural/nude shades on my nails. This is actually why I chose this shade. I thought a free polish was a great opportunity to try a colour I haven't tried before!

I must say I was plesantly surprised by this polish. Firstly was the way it applied. It was so easy to apply and felt really silky and smooth. It gave a really good coverage with just one coat, but I did apply a second. It went on so smoothly and dried really quickly.

I'm really starting to warm to the colour. I wasn't sure how I would feel about it but it's something that has grown with me. I'm pretty sure I'd wear this colour again, and may even be inclined to wear similar colours!

Have you tried Models Own before? What's is your opinion of the natural/nude nail polish shades?

Button Swap!

Just a quick post before I pop up a review later!

I finally got round to making myself a button and here it is...

It's not great which I'm aware of, but I'm not very creative and don't have the money to get someone to make one for me.

Okay, so to the point of this post...

I'm currently a student and don't have much money to spend on advertising my blog. I'm quite aware that there are others in the same position as me so I'm looking for a couple of blogs willing to do a button swap with me. It will be completely free of charge for both sides!

If anyone is interested please contact me on my email as we can arrange swapping codes :)

About Me Tag

I don't often do tags but I thought this was a nice, little one to do so you can all get to know me better. It's freezing outside so I'm currently snuggled up in bed watching Friends and blogging. What a lovely way to spend the afternoon!

So, I came across this little tag on Charlie's blog and thought it was a great one to do!

Are you named after anyone?
Not that I know of. My parents had chosen a few names before I was born but didn't think any of them suited me when I finally arrived, so chose Kelsey. I'm always amazed when I find another person named Kelsey, but it seems to be becoming more popular.

When was the last time you cried?
I actually can't remember! I'm not sure whether that is a good or bad thing. I always tear up at any animal welfare adverts though!

Do you have children?
Definitely not! I'm not really a children person. I like the idea of having a cuddle with someones baby and handing it back, but I'm not up for being a parent for a good few years!

If you were another person, would you be a friend of yourself?
I would like to think I would. I get on well with people and I'm a nice person (I think!) so, yes.

Do you use sarcasm a lot?
I use it around the people who I know will understand it and not be offended. There's nothing worse than being sarcastic and then having to explain it to the person!

What's your favourite cereal?
In all honesty I'm not really a cereal fan. I can't stand eating it for breakfast but will eat it before bed on the odd occasion. I don't really have much of a sweet tooth either so normally go for something a bit bland like rice crispies or ready break.

Whats the first thing you notice about people?
I think this depends on the person. Normally their appearance/clothing though.

What's you eye colour?

Scary movie or happy endings?
I hate scary films! I don't really understand how people can enjoy them. I watch paranormal activity and ended up sleeping with my lamp on for a week! Haha I sound like such a wimp now! Much prefer happy endings.

Favourite smells?
I love the smell of freshly cut grass and the smell of the country (I'm a bit of a country girl at heart!). At home I live quite close to the Hovis bakery so being able to smell the bread baking is quite nice.

Summer or Winter?
Oh definitely summer! I love being warm, I love the sun and I love not putting loads of layers on to try and keep warm. I'm one of those people who feels the cold really easily which I hate. I must admit that I do love snow though, and there's nothing better than snuggling with a quilt and a film!

Computer or television?
Probably computer. Although I sit in front of the telly a lot most of the time I'm not actually watching it, I just like to have something in the background.

What's the furthest you've been away from home?
I think Gran Canaria, which isn't too far.

Do you have any special talents?
Not that I know of...that nakes me sound quite boring!

Where were you born?
In Poole, Dorset. It's a harbor town on the south coat. I live in a small town just outside of Poole, called Wimborne, until I was 12 and then I moved up north. I still have a southern accent though.

What are your hobbies?
Blogging, photography, reptile keeping. I've recently started going to the gym and really surprised myself because I've actually been enjoying it!

Favourite movies?
Willy Wonka and the Chocolate factory & Aristocats are two of my faviourite films. I'm a sucker for a rom com though and repeatedly watch the American Pie series!
I hope you've enjoyed getting to know me a little better! If you do this tag people let me know and send me your links!

The Boots Are Back!

Hello everyone!

So, it's becoming colder each day and it's time to get some of my winter essentials back out of the wardrobe. I'm not a huge fan of winter. I hate the rain, wind and feeling cold. I'm one of those people who feel the cold really easily, so probably started wrapping up for winter slightly earlier than most other people do!

One of my favourite winter items are my Dr Martens boots. I have a few different pairs of these, but one pair in particular have helped my through two previous winters.

These are my Dr Marten Triumph Boots. They retail at around £149.99 depending on what store you buy them from. I bought mine around two years ago. Dr Martens are one of the few shoe brands I will happily spend £100+ on, purely because they're such good quality that they will literally last you years! I have another pair that are about 4 years old and still going strong!

My Triumph boots are super warm and comfy. They are fleece lined on the inside so help keep your legs and ankles lovely and snug. The sides and tongue both fold down so you can wear them as an ankle boot, although I have never actually worn them like that.

They truely are part of my staple winter wardrobe!

Do you own any Dr Martens boots? What's your essential winter wear?

I'm finally back & Instagram #3

Hello everyone!

I'm pleased to say that I've finally got my blogging motivation back and I'm ready to blog again...I'm super excited! I'm really sorry I've been away for so long. I was hoping I'd be back blogging after I'd settled back into uni properly but unfortunately it took me longer than I thought. The longer I left it, the harder it was to find my motivation. Getting in to a routine when I started uni was really hard because I have such an odd timetable! I get Tuesdays and Wednesdays off, two 9am starts and one 12pm start. Saying that, my timetable changes most weeks and some of my lectures are only every other week...very hard to get used to! My sleeping pattern also took a bit of a funny turn as some says I was getting up at 7am and other days 11am!

I'm please to say that I'm back and I have sooo many posts ready for you! I've been a bit cheeky with my student loan (and overdraft!) so I have plenty of new products to show you and review. I'm really behind on haul post and I've bought a lot since starting uni, so keep your eyes peeled!

To start you off I have an instagram post. I love looking at these posts on other blogs and know they're quite popular, so thought it was a great way to show you what I've been up to!

Barry M Silver Glitter // Midnight walk in Chester // Fluffy new coat // Schoolies night in Chester // Start of uni work // Giraffe // Of Monsters and Men // Cats! Brucie and Fluff // Ember gecko // Teapigs at Giraffe // Carved a tiny pumpkin // First red cup of the year // Kelsen? // Froggy gecko // Lovely Yankee Christmas candle // Gecko eggs!

Also, for anyone that is interested, I have added a few new pictures to my Flickr page and they can be found here.

NOTD - Barry M's Silver Glitter

So, today I thought I'd share with you a new Barry M polish that I picked up, along with two others, in the boots 3 for 2 sale.

I really love Barry M polishes and have quick a collection going! I find them not only to be good quality polishes that are easy to apply, but there is also such a great range of colours! From plain and simple natural colours to bright and glittery. I'm pretty sure Barry M has a colour for everyone!

I've been longing for some glitter polishes for a while now. Although I own a few glitter top coats, I wanted a glitter that you could wear without using a colour background.

The polish I'm showing you today is Barry M's Silver Glitter. It's a really lovely polish. I applied two coats for a thicker covering, which I would recommend. It's really easy to apply and goes on lovely and evenly.

I really love the colour. It really got me in the mood for Christmas (A little early, I know!) but would look nice on a night out or going to a party. It would also look good used for graduated tips!

Because it is a glitter polish it takes a bit of extra effort to remove, but on the plus side it doesn't chip as easily as other polishes do.

I'm really pleased with this polish and think I might try some of the other glitter polishes too!

Have you tried Barry M's glitter polishes? Or any of the Barry M range?

My Daily Skincare Routine

Hello everyone! Hope you're all okay!

I'm back to blogging after a bit of a mini break. I didn't plan on being away for this long but moving into uni and freshers week meant that I was very busy! I'm finally unpacked, well mostly, and getting in to a routine. This week we started lectures and my timetable is pretty good. Monday is my only full day. I get Tuesdays and Wednesdays off and Thursdays and Fridays are only mornings. Really can't complain! I'll be doing a uni room post in the next couple of weeks.

Also, I would like to say welcome to my new followers. I didn't really expect to get any followers or readers whilst I wasn't blogging much and I'm really happy and surprised that I did!

Now, to the skin routine...

My main skin care products...
Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Clenser
Boots Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz
Skin Wisdom Eye Makeup Remover
Soap and Glory Fab Pore Facial Peel
Witch Blemish Stick
So, I like to keep my skincare nice a simple and only use a few products. There is a couple of reasons I do this. The main reason is so that it is easy to detect which products, if any, cause me to break out or have an allergic reaction. By only using a few products it is easy to pinpoint which products have caused this. The second reason is that, for my skin, using a lot of products can do just as much damage as using none. I suffer from eczema which causes me to have sensitive and dry skin. In the past I have found that using a lot of products has caused my skin to become very dry.

I do tend to swap and change curtain products if I don't feel they're working for me or if I find something on offer, but the amount of products and routine doesn't really change.

In the morning...

My morning skin routine is very, very simple. It pretty much consists of just washing my face with warm water and a muslin cloth. This is then followed by using the Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz, which I have previously reviewed here. I then moisturize using a prescription cream which is pretty similar to E45 and oilatum creams. It's quite a heavy duty moisturizer and I do tend to use milder creams when my skin is behaving.

In the evening...

I tend to wear makeup on a day to day basis, so it's really important that I remove all my makeup before going to bed. To remove most of my face makeup (powder, bronzer & foundation) I use Superdrug Vitamin E Hot Cloth Cleanser. I've only been using it about a month and found that it is a really nice product. As it's cream based I find it doesn't dry out my skin and feels really lovely when applying. I remove it using a muslin cloth and it removes the majority of my face makeup. My previous cleanser was causing me to break out but swapping to this one really improved my skin. I'm not spot prone so a nice, simple cleanser works fine for me. My eye makeup remover tends to be picked based on whatever is on offer at the time (probably not the best method to use!). I'm currently using Skin Wisdom eye make up remover. Although it works well I don't think I'll be buying it again and it does take a bit of effort to remove the eye make up with this product. In the past I have found moisturizers work well and using them works out cheaper too! Once all my makeup is removed I again use the toning spritz and moisturize. Nice and simple!

Although I like to keep my skin care routine nice and simple every few weeks I like to use a face mask to give my skin a little extra 'freshening up'. I'm currently using Soup and Glory Fab Pore Facial Peel as my face mask. It comes in a small pot and I've actually found it to be really good value for money. I've used it about 8 times now and reckon I'm only about halfway in to it!

If I get a spot or have a breakout there are a couple of things that I like to use, the  Witch Blemish Stick and Sudocrem. I find them both really good at getting rid of, or minimising, spots and breakouts.

So, like I said, I like to keep my skin routine really nice and simple. If there are any products I have mentioned that you would like me to review please let me know :) Is your skin care routine similar to this?

Back To University!

Hello everyone!

I'm sorry I've been a bit absent lately. On Saturday I moved back to my uni city and into my lovely little student house! For my second year I'm renting a lovely little house with a few people I met during the first year. Luckily, I have a huge room so I'm finally going to be able to get you some OOTD posts! I'm super excited for this!

I only packed the day I was leaving (Huge mistake!) so it was very, very hectic. I haven't fully unpacked yet because I've been so busy with Freshers week! I'm hopefully going to be able to get you some proper posts this week (I've got some planned and I'm really excited) so keep your eyes peeled!

Hopefully once lectures start and everything settles back down to near normal I'll be able to carry on posting regularly. I'm only in lecture 3 days a week this term and 2 of them are mornings only, so I'm going to have plenty of time to blog!

Good luck to anyone who has started uni this year!

Review - Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz

Hello! I hope everyone had a good weekend!

First of all I'd like to say Welcome and thank you to all my new followers! I can't believe that a couple of weeks ago I was writing a post saying how happy I was to reach 30 followers, and now I'm nearly at 60! If any of you have post requests or would like to see more of a curtain post please let me know :)

Secondly I like to say a little Sorry to you all for not being around much over the past week. I'm currently in the process of moving my things into my uni house. Luckily I'm nearly done and it's just clothes, makeup, hair and skin care to take with me on Saturday. The next couple of weeks are going to be a little hectic but hopefully I'll have time for a few posts.

Right, now down to business!

A couple of weeks ago I was scanning boots for a new toner. I had been a bit bad with my skin and not used one in a while (bad, I know!) but had £4's worth of points on my boots card so decided to get one without spending money!

The Boots Botanic's range caught my eye. First of all they had an offer giving you 1/3 off the retail price (who doesn't love a good bargain!) and secondly they're organic. Lovely!

So, I ended up choosing the Botanics Rosewater Toning Spritz. It normally retails at £4.99 but was on offer for £3.33. Although I have used toners in the past, I'd never using toning 'spritz' so was excited to see how this worked and how much I liked it. The packaging is really nice and simple, which matches the product really nicely. The spray bottle means that there is less wastage and it can't be spilled.

What I really like about this product is how simple the ingredients are. There are actually only 5 ingredients in the product. The product also has a lovely scent to it. Because it's organic and 'natural' the scent is mild and sweet. It's not at all over powering. It's subtle and smells fresh. I actually think it smells slightly like lychees, which sounds a bit strange, but it's actually really nice.
Because it's a spray it's really easy to apply to the face. Just a quick spritz all over and then wipe gently with a cotton wool pad - really simple and easy. I have been repeating this a couple of times just to ensure I have removed all makeup traces. Because it's a spray it feels lovely and refreshing on the face, especially when it's warm or after a hot shower.
Overall I really like this product. It leaves my skin feeling refreshed, clean and soft. I have quite dry skin and haven't found this to dry my skin out at all. I do also suffer from eczema and it's hasn't caused any sort of reaction.

Have you tried anything from this range? What's your favourite toner?

Kelsey xx

How much is my face worth?

I must admit I was a bit hesitant about doing this tag as most of the posts I saw featured high end makeup brands and totals in the range of £100 - £200! I always stick to 'drugstore' brands and I honestly can't afford  or justify spending huge amounts on makeup. Anyway, after seeing a couple of posts featuring 'drugstore' brands I decided to give it a go.

I haven't included what I moisturize my face with prior to applying my makeup purely because it's a prescription cream for my eczema.

Revon Colorstay in Buff (Dry/Normal Skin) - £12.45
Rimmel Match Perfection Illuminating Concealer - £5.99
Elf Clarifying Pressed Powder in Rosy Beige - £1.50

Total for Face - £19.94

Bourjois Coup De Theatre Mascara - £9.49
Bourjois Smokey Eyes Eye Shadow - £7.99

Total for Eyes - £17.48

Blistex Intensive Moisturiser Lip Cream - £2.59
MUA Lipstick - £1

Total for Lips - £3.59

Overall Total - £41.01!!

I'm actually really impressed by that. Although I don't use high end brands I do tend to choose the more expensive 'drugstore' products, which made me think it would be slightly more than this. Of course, I do change product from time to time and on some days I might wear a different lipstick or eye shadow which would waver the price. I suppose the makeup I would wear on a night out would probably push it into the £50-60 mark as well.

The review for the MUA lipstick can be seen here.

What do you think of this price? How much is your face worth?

Prairie Charms

Hello! How is everyone today? Hope you're all well!

I was recently contacted by the lovely Stephanie from Prairie Charms asking if I'd like to take part in their blogger collaboration offer which entitled me to 50% off any of their jewellery. I looked over their site, which features some lovely jewellery items and was delighted to take part.

For those who have not come across Prairie Charms before you can find them here. They give 10% of all proceeds to the GOSH charity 'kiss it better'. That means that not only can you purchase a lovely piece of jewellery  but you can also help out a children's charity at the same time! Their jewellery is handmade and they have loads of different designs so there is something for everyone!

It took me a while to choose as they have so many different and lovely designs. They people at Prairie Charms made the purchasing process really nice and easy. I admire their willingness to help and patience (as like I said, it took me a while to choose!). I finally went for this lovely friendship wrap 'Olivia'. It can be found here on their website and retails at £10, which I think is a fair price.

The package arrived about 3 days after my purchase. I was really excited to open it up and once I did I found a lovely wrapped parcel inside. I'm a sucker for lovely wrapping, I always think it's really nice when people take the time to present the package well rather than just throwing it in a evolope and taking it to the post office.

Of course, before I opened the package I had to take a few snaps to show you the lovely packaging...

The bracelet itself it a lovely summery, floral bracelet. It's really girly and great for wearing in summer so I'm really glad the sun has come out over the past few days to allow me to wear it! I rarely see bracelets in this style which is what drove me to it. The fabric used is lovely and soft making the bracelet really comfortable to wear.

My overall experience with Prairie Charms has been fantastic. I love my bracelet and will definitely be purchasing something else from them in the near future!

Have you come across Prairie Charms before? Will you be purchasing an item from them?

A Little Update & Instagram

I've been blogging for just over a month now, can you believe it?! I thought it was time for a little update.

I'm really proud of myself for sticking with the blogging for this long. I know it doesn't sound like long, but when I first started I wasn't sure how much I'd enjoy it or whether I'd get too caught up with life to remember to blog. I'm finding blogging really enjoyable and it's also made me aware of loads of brands that I'd never come across before! I would really like to say thank you to everyone who has read my blog, commented on my blog and of course all those that are following! I was so excited when I got 1 follower! 32 is amazing!

In the next week or so I will be moving back to Chester for uni. This year I'm living in a lovely little house with a few of my friends. Luckily I got my keys a month ago so a lot of my stuff that I didn't need everyday has already been moved. My room there is HUGE with much better lighting so I'm looking forward to being a bit more creative with my blog and being able to do OOTD posts, so look out for them!

Hello from me! // Prairie Charms parcel // New ring // Dinner at Giraffe (sooo yummy!) // Free graze box // Vintage Kodak Retinette // Sky and Cody waiting for mum // Ember gecko // Cruelty free // Day out at Knowsley Safari Park // First sample from WIMH // Shopping at Miss Selfridge // Delivery from Miss Guided // First Elf order // Camera ready for the Red squirrels // Cody playing football

Ps... Please let me know which posts to enjoy the most and any you would like to see more of :)

Gold Stud Ring

Hello! Is everyone okay today?

Just a quick post to show you all a couple of lovely rings I picked up from Forever 21. They had a new store open a couple of months ago at the Trafford Centre so I thought I'd go in for a peak! The shop was huge and much bigger than I was expecting it to be. I was very impressed.

I didn't want to spend too much money as I'm trying (and completely failing) to cut down on my spending. I ended up picking up these lovely gold studded rings for just £3.15!

Review - MUA Lipstick Shade 11

Hello! How is everyone today?

A few weeks ago I decided to get my hands on a couple of MUA lipsticks. After the great reviews I'd seen about them on other blogs I thought it was time to get my hands on some myself! I had planned to do this review a couple of weeks ago but got distracted with other blog posts that I've done.

First of all I would like to say that £1 is an amazing price for the quality of this product! Considering I would normally spend £7+ on a lipstick I was very impressed!

I ended up buying two lipsticks as I had just the right amount of change and it saved me having to break notes or use my card. I picked up shade 15 (Juicy) and 11 as I didn't want to go for anything too dark. I have yet to use shade 15 so this review will just be focusing on shade 11. Don't worry though, once I've got round to using it I will be reviewing the other shade too!

The packaging of the MUA lipsticks is really lovely and simple. They're lightweight and fit easily into a handbag or purse, but don't at all look or feel cheap.

Upon opening the lipstick the first thing I noticed was the scent! The MUA lipsticks have such a lovely, sweet scent about them. I've never noticed this on other lipstick I've used, but it was lovely. I think it was a sort of sweet, vanilla type of scent.

With some of my lipstick I apply lip balm underneath to stop my lips from drying out. The first time I used this I decided not to and was really happy to find that it didn't dry my lips out like I was expecting. The formula seems really creamy and it glides on really quickly and easily go it's great if you're in a hurry! The colour payoff was really good and I was so pleased with it. It lasts a good while without needing touching up, apart from obviously needing more of a touch up after eating or drinking.

Overall I was really please with this product. Considering it's £1 it's amazing quality and great value for money! Something I'd really recommend! Have you tried MUA cosmetic products yet? What's your view on them?

Autumn Wishlist

I've pretty much given up with us having any sort of summer so it's time to get some new cloths ready for the frosty mornings ahead! Unfortunately I have put myself on a spending ban so that I have some money for the first few weeks I move back to Chester for uni before the student loan comes through. My spending ban isn't going as well as I hoped as I have spent a few pennies here and there, but it does mean that for the mean time I'm going to be lusting over these products instead of buying them!

1. Sheer Dress - Miss Selfridge // 2. Scull Clutch - Miss Selfridge // 3. Cross Design Jumper - Miss Selfridge // 4. Lace Shoe Boots // 5. Studded Collar Sleeveless Shirt

This wishlist is a bit of a mixture of both evening and daytime wear. I absolutely adore Miss Selfridge and about 80% of my wardrobe comes from there, which is why a lot of this wishlist is clothing from their store.
1. I fell in love with the Miss Selfridge dress as soon as I saw it. It's perfect for a night out! They also do it in black and I'm actually a bit undecided as to which I prefer.
2. I really need a clutch bag and love this one! I think the mix of the girly mink/grey colour and the scull shape is a great match.
3. Since it's getting colder I need to add a couple of snugly jumpers to my wardrobe! I really like purplish/wine colours at the moment and this jumper looks so snug!
4. The boots from Tribeca Shoes are actually something I've been lusting over for so long! I'm really aching to get my hands on a pair and if anything is going to break my spending ban, it's going to be these!
5. I really like the clothing in Miss Guided at the moment. My wardrobe is absolutely full of sleeveless shirts but another one in the collection can't hurt, right? I really like the stud effect on the collar and the colouring is lovely too!

What items are you currently lusting over?

My (not so) new camera & a trip to the antiques fair

Last week me and by boyfriend took a trip to an antiques/second hand fair located just outside of Wigan called Bygone Times. I wasn't really sure what to expect and I'd never been before but I really enjoyed it. It's inside a huge set of warehouses which back in the day were factories. I didn't expect it to be so big, it will definitely take a good chunk out of your day if you want to have a good look round all of it!

I initially went as I wanted a couple of bits of furniture for my shared house at uni, plus a lamp and a few decorative bits to make the room more homely. Unfortunately there was nothing within my budget but I did find this beautiful camera!

Some of you may know that I'm a bit of a hobbyist photographer. I really enjoy photography and spend a lot of my free time with a camera in my hand. I'm rather keen on wildlife photography, although I will take photos of anything and everything!
I use D-SLRs for my photography hobby but have been after a vintage film camera for a while, just to mess around on and see the difference between film and digital for myself.

It seem that I was pretty lucky when I was browsing at the antique fair and I managed to spot this lovely Kodak film camera for just £3! It's in fabulous condition and even came with it's original case. At the time of purchase I had no idea if it worked, but because it was in great cosmetic condition I decided to risk it anyway. I would love to show you how clean the inside is but since it's got a film in you'll have to use your imagination :)

The camera is a Kodak Retinette 1A Pronto. My boyfriend googled it just after I bought it and we found out  that this model was made between 1959 and 1961, meaning the camera is a 50+ years old!
I bought a film straight away and got snapping but in all honesty I won't fully know how well it's works until the film is developed. Of course I will share a few of my photos with your when I get them back!

Do any of your own a vintage camera? What recent bargains have you picked up at antique fairs?

I love eBay #1

How is everyone today? I am a huge fan of eBay. I love that you can buy pretty much anything on it, old and new! I'm always browsing on the website to see what bargains I can pick up. I've used it for everything from photography equipment to nail varnish to dog toys! Unfortunately I have a terrible memory and I'm always forgetting that I've put stuff in my 'watch list' - this is probably better for my bank account though!

Anyway, because I love eBay so much, I decided I would start blog posts about the bargains I pick up (fashion and beauty related ones, of course!)

I managed to bid and win (I'm terrible at bidding wars!) this lovely owl necklace. It's on a lovely long chain and I love the colour of the metal. It only cost me £3.39 inc the p&p, which I think is a great price. I'm a bit of a sucker for anything with owls on, so this necklace was really perfect for me. For the money I paid it's great quality!

Do you shop on eBay? What bargains have you managed to pick up recently?
