Style - Off Duty Monochrome

The 'off duty model' look is one of my favourite go-to styles for the day time. It's really easy to throw together, it's simple yet has a well put together feel about it and really doesn't take much effort at all. It's a style I always feel very comfortable wearing. It makes me feel that little bit 'dressed up' whilst still keeping that casual daytime look. Always a confidence boost.

When it comes to shirts and blouses I'm a bit of a hoarder. I have tonnes in my wardrobe and when I spot one in a shop that I like, I just can't resist. Although I'm not the biggest fan of Primark, their shirts have never disappointed me and the lovely one in these pictures was no exception. The combination of a very light weight fabric and low cut front makes it perfect for the warmer months. It gives you cover whilst still feeling and looking cool. The dainty buttoned front gives it a girlie edge but it still looks very grown up.

I teamed it with my favourite New Look black jeans that are very well loved and after seeing a good few washes have faded a little. Being petite and having a shallow back I struggle finding jeans that fit well but these are just perfect. My favourtie pair of shoes where also added to the mix. Are they a boot, are they a shoe?! Who knows! I think they're the perfect combination of simple and edgy.

The duster jacket was a nice little find from Primark and only about £15 too! I'd been after one for so long and finally found this in my local Primark mixed between a few different jackets. When I find the last one in my size I always take it as a sign to buy it. It's a really versatile piece in my wardrobe and I always feel a little more fancy when I wear it! I particularly love styling it with a mini A-line skirt, combining the short skirt and long jacket gives a really nice edge to the outfit.

Judges Court Hotel, York

A review is better late than never, right?

A couple of months ago me and my boyfriend went on a little overnight trip to York, which you can find out more about here. We stayed in a wonderfully quirky little hotel that was tucked away down a little path, right in the heart of the city. It's really the perfect location. Just a stones throw away from the hustle and bustle of city life, the shops and the restaurants, but set far enough back that you can easily escape and have a very peaceful nights sleep.

Judges Court Hotel is a 4 star, boutique hotel set in a little courtyard hidden between shops in the heart of York's city centre. If you didn't know it was there, you'd barely even notice it. In fact, I almost walked past the little path that leads to it's front doors! When we arrived we were greeted by the loveliest receptionist who gave us all the relevant information, showed us to the room and talked us through some of the facilities that came with the room. I was really excited, as I've never really stayed in a proper English hotel before, and I really can't fault this stay in any way!

The room was absolutely beautiful. From the crisp bedding to the quirky imagery on the wall. It was all stunning! The mix of modern furniture and vintage touches, such as the beautiful old fire place, gave it a really lovely feel. The room was spacious, the bed was comfy and there was plenty of light to do my makeup in the morning! Hidden in one of the cupboards was a well stocked mini bar along with complimentary hot drinks and a nespresso machine for the coffee lovers out there. Oh, and of course there was free wifi, making it the perfect hotel for a business stay or a few nights away.

Set down a little corridor in the far corner of the room was the en-suite. It was spacious and the lighting was absolutely amazing! The finish was crisp, clean and modern with everything you could have needed. The shower absolutely huge and I couldn't wait to jump in when I woke up in the morning. Towels, flannels and tissues were all provided along with the most lovely scented Cowshed toiletries. The beauty lover in me was really excited to try Cowshed and they didn't disappoint, the scent was fresh and very natural. Perfect for waking you up in the morning.

The beautiful room and modernly fitted bathroom made it really easy to get ready in the morning. Plenty of space, lots of natural lighting and a good selection of mirrors. The stay was absolutely wonderful and it's definitely a hotel I would visit again. We were ever given a complimentary late checkout which was fab if you're like me and always take longer than you think to get ready! Whoops!

The history of the hotel is really fascinating too and we were talking to a member of staff about it for a while before we left, but you can find out more about it here.
